Aistear experience, as they look at play through a mathematical lens. Participants will learn practical suggestions for developing maths language, how to plan playful lessons, and activities for teacher-led and child-ledplay.

CRAFTed 2018 Programme

CRAFTed is the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland’s Primary School Visual Arts based educational programme. It promotes learning through creativity and innovation, placing professional craftspeople to work alongside teachers in primary schools.

It focuses on integrated learning methodologies through the Visual Arts Curriculum, using a process-led methodology that focuses on the child’s own creativity. 

CRAFTed is being developed and delivered in partnership with the full-time Education Centres (ATECI) across the Republic of Ireland 

CRAFTed 2018- how it works

 

This years CRAFTed programme will take place in the 2018 Spring and Summer Term. All Primary Schools will have the opportunity to apply to participate in Crafted, which will run in approximately 70 schools countrywide

Using Rhythm in the classroom

“Using Rhythm in the Classroom” is a Practical hands - on and fun course.

Teachers will be introduced to rhythmical activities such as body percussion, making up rhythms using words, cup rhythms, songs and games which can be used in the classrooms

During the course we will also use drums to become familiar with the rhythms and rhythm arrangements.

PDST Child Protection Seminars

Places for the seminar this term (based on existing guidelines), is strictly reserved for newly appointed DLPs and DDLPs only. 

 

The Department of Education and Skills will facilitate substitute cover where necessary.
