An inquiry based approach to Shape and Space

This seminar capitalises on the natural opportunities for integration between Shape and Space in the primary maths curriculum and the wider STEM objectives. Participants will develop their spatial reasoning and visualisation skills through practical activities that embody  aninquiry based learning approach.

Participants wil lalso explore innovative approaches to planning and assessing inquiry based learning lessons.Two teachers from a school will be allowed to attend and substitute cover is available. Participants canapply using     www.pdst.ie/onlinebooking.

 SEAI - M&R workshops for schools in Spring.

 

The training is open to all schools to support them in meeting their statutory obligation to monitor and report their energy use to SEAI annually. Any member of the Board of Management or staff, parents association or other person nominated to represent a school can attend. Open to both Primary and Post-Primary. The online report can be completed during the workshop if attendees bring the necessary details with them. Online applications are now taking place for the 8th of March. Mental Health Awareness Initiative 5th & 6th Class Teachers

Mental Health Awareness Initiative

This 2 hour workshop explores how as a teacher you can help to support and promote the mental health and well-being of all of the students in your class. The concept of being One Good Adult in the lives of our students will be discussed and how we, as teachers, can fulfil this role. The workshop will explore elements of the Well-Being Guidelines for Primary Schools and offer practical tips on how to best support and promote the mental health of the students in your care. Self-care is a fundamental element of the teaching profession which will also be addressed in the workshop.
