Hospice Sunflower Fun Day June 2024

Hospice Sunflower Days is one of Ireland’s longest established charity fundraisers, and raises up to €1 million each year for hospice services nationwide. Our volunteers at Kerry Hospice will return to the streets once again to raise funds on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June 2024, but this year we have an exciting new addition to the campaign.

We are calling on primary schools to support Kerry Hospice by participating in a “Sunflower Fun Day” in June 2024.

Diversity and Intercultural Education Network

DIEN was launched on the 25th of March 2023, as a safe and supportive space for educators at all levels to share skills, information, knowledge and good practice in
supporting Diversity and Inclusion in schools, classrooms and educational environments.
 
Our aim is to host a gathering twice a year, in Autumn and again in Spring, to empower educators by providing speakers and workshops that contribute to good practice. 

Santhi and I are delighted to inform you that the next gathering of the DIEN will take place on Saturday, 9th March 2024, at Atlantic Technological University, Sligo
 
The theme of our March gathering is 'Supporting and Inclusion in ALL Communities'
 
Programme includes:
  • Opening Speech from Dr. Breda McTaggart, Head of Faculty of Business and Social Sciences (ATU Sligo)
  • Research on the Lived Educational Experiences of Autistic Trans and Autistic Non-Binary Students in the Republic of Ireland
  • Creating a Culture of Belonging and Participation in the Early Years Setting
  • Tailoring Migrant Specific Guidance and Educational Pathways
  • The Transformative Power of UDL in Post Primary Education
  • International Perspective on Diversity and Inclusion in Schools
Twenty five minutes have been allocated for each presentation.
There will also be an opportunity for Q&A after all speakers have presented.

Two 50 minute discussion groups will run in the afternoon:
  • Group 1 – School Experiences of Inclusion and Support of Diverse Learners 
  • Group 2 – Supporting Family Engagement with Schools
