Attention and Concentration are important for learning. We need to attend to and concentrate on things in order to understand and remember them.
This workshop will help you to:
- Understand the invisible difficulties that young people with an Acquired Brain Injury experience.
- Support these students by using appropriate strategies to support their attention and concentration.
- Learn strategies that optimise attention and concentration skills
Content:
- Strategies to optimise attention (Fatigue, timetabling, pacing, technique).
- On your marks: Getting your student’s attention.
- Overcoming problems with attention (Executive Function, Processing Speed,
- Working Memory, Cognitive Stamina)
- Training attention (Mindfulness, functional activity)
