Date:    Monday 30th September 2024
Time:    7 - 8 pm
Venue:  Online via Zoom

Target Audience: From senior primary school teachers up to teachers of Junior Cycle Gaeilge (T2 schools)

  • Explore practical ways to enhance the teaching of Gaeilge in your classroom
  • Discover how to promote positivity surrounding ár dteanga
  • Reflect on current strategies and examine ways that they can be adjusted to offer more enjoyment and success

Whatever you do … Make. It. FUN !.

In this seminar we will go back to basics and look at ways to inject some fresh life into the teaching of ár dteanga dhúchais.

Some methods you might know, some methods you might already use, and some methods you might have never thought could be applied in your Irish classroom.

The goal is not to reinvent the wheel. The goal is to reinspire and reset. To reflect and review. To share and support. Teachers should come away from this webinar with a new lease of life and a renewed sense of excitement regarding the passing on of our native tongue.

Bio of Presenter: Eimear Nic Giolla Phádraig

Eimear Nic Giolla Phádraig

Eimear Nic Giolla Phádraig is a post-primary múinteoir Gaeilge who is passionate about the Irish language and is eager to share her enthusiasm and experience with other educators. Eimear has taught in Irish secondary schools for 5+ years and is currently abroad working within and learning from the Australian Educational System as a post-primary teacher.

She views the Irish language as an empowering tool that can be used to inspire students and contribute positively to both their personal and academic development, thereby leading to higher outcomes.

Eimear is determined to provide practical ways to make Irish fun to teach and enjoyable to learn. She is adamant that this seminar not be seen as a ‘tick the box’ exercise and assures fellow educators that they will have new activity and task ideas that can be immediately implemented into their classrooms.

The Instagram page ‘Gaeilge_bheo’ was set up by Eimear to promote the use of Gaeilge in everyday life and to portray Irish in a positive light to generations grappling with the internalised shame and generational trauma surrounding our beautiful teanga.
