We have invested in 5 STEAM Parks to loan to schools. Teachers who attend this course will be prioritised for this loan scheme.

Join us for an engaging, hands-on STEAM learning workshop where you will be introduced to the LEGO® Education STEAM Park and FIRST® LEGO® League Discover Programme. This workshop is especially designed for infant class and first class teachers and will be delivered by a LEGO Education Certified Facilitator.

Implement a STEAM learning project for your Junior Infant, Senior Infant and First Class students by engaging in the FIRST® LEGO® League Discover Programme and LEGO® Education STEAM Park. After attending this training, you will be able to deliver a 5 to 10-session programme that: develops key habits of learning, introduces the engineering design process and engages in computational thinking. All of these are key elements of the STEM Education Implementation Policy 2017 - 2026 and the sessions are mapped to Aistear.

LEGO® Education STEAM Park builds on every child’s natural curiosity and desire to create, explore, and investigate the world of early science, technology, engineering, art and maths (STEAM) through creative play. The possibilities are endless, as you work with them to construct a STEAM Park full of dynamic moving rides, fun games, and scenes using the special selection of LEGO® DUPLO® bricks. With every trip to STEAM Park, children grow their understanding of gears, motion, measurement, and solving problems together in a fun and engaging way.

The FIRST® LEGO® League Discover programme is carefully tailored to its target age group, enabling children to develop a broad range of practical and soft skills over time. Children work in groups of four and with the support of their teacher, they will explore a real-world theme with an exclusive LEGO® Education Discover Set. Each year FIRST® LEGO® League releases a new challenge theme. Using the LEGO® Education Discover Set as a starting point, they design a new model of their own with LEGO® DUPLO® elements discovering STEM skills along the way. FIRST® LEGO® League is about so much more than technical skills. The FIRST Core Values of Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork and Fun underpin the programme and are given equal emphasis to the practical tasks. FIRST® LEGO® League Discover finishes with an in-school Celebration Event to recognise the children's achievements. Their hard work and perseverance are celebrated with a certificate and lots of high fives!
