Target Audience: Primary School Teachers
This series is a go-to guide for setting up and designing gross motor groups. We will explore the foundations and theory behind gross motor skills and how they develop and discuss the most up to date evidence base to support gross motor skill development. The series will detail how to organise, sequence and differentiate skill building for up to 6 children at a time. The final two sessions will be practical, hands on and jam packed with activity ideas to get you started. Liath will include suggestions for each age category and how to grade and adapt based on need. If you have ever wanted to start a gross motor group, now is your chance!
Session 1: Introduction and background to gross motor skills.
Session 2: Designing a gross motor skills group
Session 3: Practical Strategies and Activity Ideas 1
Session 4: Practical Strategies and Activity Ideas 2
All participants will be provided with additional resources and links to complement the learning for the sessions. Sessions will include videos and demonstrations of activities to gain a deeper understanding of how to apply the ideas to the real world.
