Practical outdoor workshops at Tralee Education Centre; discover the biodiversity in your school grounds, the connection between our food and biodiversity, using the outdoors as a classroom, linking outdoor teaching to the curriculum and take away resource ideas, lesson plans and manageable practical biodiversity projects to try with your class.
Session 1 - Biodiversity in the School Grounds - Thursday 22nd September 4 - 5.30 pm
- What is Biodiversity?
- Finding out what’s already in the school grounds (practical in TEC grounds)
- How to maintain and enhance biodiversity through small practical projects – how can each participant do this in their school?
- Curriculum links, including Nature Literacy and Wellbeing

Session 2 – Habitats in the School Grounds - Thursday 20th October 4 - 5.30 pm
- What is a habitat?
- How can you increase the habitats in your school grounds?
