Introducing the TEAL Project, Limerick

Bio Of Presenter:
Fiodhna Gardiner-Hyland is a lecturer in language and literacy education at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick, Ireland. With a PhD in Teacher Education Pedagogy for ESL Literacy Teaching, Fíodhna received the inaugural Sheikh Nahayan doctoral fellowship award in association with The International Research Foundation (TIRF), California, U.S.A. As a former chair of TESOL Arabia young learner's SIG across the Middle East, Fíodhna has worked internationally and in Ireland, with experience of teaching through Irish as a second language, co-ordinating language and literacy in international schools and lecturing and consulting with international bodies such as the World Learning Organization; Oxford University Press and British Council. Recently she contributed to writing the online interactive English Programme 'Starlight' with Folens Publishers and currently co-ordinates the TEAL Project, Limerick, a philanthropic-funded Mary Immaculate College EAL Project in collaboration with the ‘Oscailt’ schools network in Limerick city.
