IRISH PRIMARY PE ASSOCIATION SPORTS DAY WEBINAR
This online webinar is to help teachers prepare and facilitate a fun and enjoyable Sports Day for their class or their school. It will take into account Covid considerations. Elements of the webinar will include:
● How to structure the day
● Organising fair teams
● Traditional and co-operative Sports Day games
● Equipment list
● Suggested timetable
● Sports Day Spotify playlist for an energising event.
● Tips for motivating reluctant children to participate

Bio of Presenters: Jason Byrne and Peter Lavin

jason byrne

Jason Byrne is a Primary School Teacher from Galway. He currently works as a Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Coordinator in Scoil Chroi Iosa & Castlegar NS. He is a PDST PE & Wellbeing Associate and the Co Chairperson of the Irish Primary PE Association (IPPEA). Jason has a particular interest in PE and the whole school community, and is joint National Coordinator for European School Sports Day (ESSD) in Ireland.

peter lavin

Peter Lavin is a Teaching Principal from Manister National School in Limerick. He is a PDST PE facilitator and the Co Chairperson of the Irish Primary PE Association (IPPEA). Peter has an interest in all things sport related and coaches underage GAA with his local club teams and county team. Peter is the joint National Coordinator for European School Sports Day (ESSD) in Ireland.
