Webinar 1: First Steps: Building a Strong Foundation for Literacy with Raz-Plus - Tuesday, 14 September 2021, 3.30pm to 4.30pm    

Research shows there are five essential pillars to becoming a fluent reader - phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. During this session, participants will learn about phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency while discovering how Raz-Plus supports teachers and students with these three pillars. Participants will leave this session with trial access to Raz-Plus, which offers over 50,000 resources that can immediately be used in any classroom setting to support differentiated literacy instruction and personalized practice.

Webinar 2: Next Steps: Building a Strong Foundation for Literacy with Raz-Plus - Wednesday, 13 October 2021, 3.30pm to 4.30pm

In our last session we explored how Raz-Plus supports the teaching and learning of phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency. Let’s now take the next step and discover how Raz-Plus supports the remaining two pillars - vocabulary and comprehension.  Participants will leave this session learning how to use Raz-Plus resources to support the transition from learning to read to reading to learn while also discovering ready to implement tips and tricks for any classroom setting. *Participants that did not attend the first webinar will be eligible to sign up for Raz-Plus trial access.

Webinar 3: The Final Step: Building a Strong Foundation for Literacy with Raz-Plus - Thursday, 11 November 2021, 3.30pm to 4.30pm

In our previous two sessions we explored how Raz-Plus supports the teaching and learning of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Let’s now take the final step and discover how the use of assessments and data forms a triangulation of evidence to inform instruction. Participants will leave this session understanding how to use Raz-Plus’s digital benchmark assessments and activity and skills reports. As the final step in this webinar series, participants will also have an opportunity for live Q/A!

Jennifer Nigh, Ph.D. Director – International Academics and Curriculum  
As an experienced U.S. educator and literacy specialist, Jennifer believes in the expertise of the teacher and the power of literacy and language. In her role as Director-International Academics and Curriculum, Jennifer's mission is to empower educators around the world with the knowledge, resources, and research that can help every student reach their fullest potential.

Róisín Faherty - RAZ Professional Learning Consultant
Róisín currently works as a primary school teacher in Co. Clare.  She has successfully trained as a RAZ Professional Learning Consultant and established this trusted programme in her school providing training and support for teachers and SNAs to access and maximize its use.  As a License Coordinator and a Professional Learning Consultant, she hopes to share how RAZ can strategically select and use approaches to match the learning objective of lessons from Junior Infants to Sixth Class, meet differentiated learning needs of pupils including EAL, offer multiple opportunities for subject integration and open up opportunities for further learning through the varied content.
