This CPD webinar for history teachers in Ireland explores how specific AI tools can significantly boost productivity in lesson planning and material creation. Participants will learn to efficiently plan lessons using AI and discover how these tools can aid differentiation in the classroom.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Utilise AI tools to create comprehensive lesson plans in approximately 10 minutes.
- Apply AI-powered platforms such as napkin.ai, perplexity, Gemini, and eduaide to streamline lesson preparation processes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using a text-to-image AI tool for creating differentiated learning materials.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of various AI tools in enhancing teacher productivity and classroom engagement.
- Integrate AI-assisted planning techniques into their daily teaching practice to save time and improve lesson quality.
- Critically assess the benefits and potential limitations of using AI tools in educational settings.
Bio of Presenter: James Flood

James Flood is a teacher of History and Geography at Greystones Community College in Ireland. He holds a Bachelor's degree in History from University College Dublin. Following this, he pursued a Master's degree in Archives and Records Management, also from University College Dublin. Before his teaching career, James gained diverse professional experience in various roles in the construction and IT sectors, including document control working on the construction of Data Centres across Europe, GDPR consultancy, and network engineering. During his Professional Master of Education (PME), Flood wrote his thesis on "Increasing teacher productivity through the use of AI," demonstrating his interest in innovative educational technologies. Currently, he is a collaborator in the Erasmus+ funded EU Immersive project at University College Dublin.
