Executive functions refer to a set of mental processes that are responsible for managing, planning, initiating, and regulating cognitive operations and behaviours. These functions are crucial for goal-directed behaviour, decision-making, problem-solving, and adapting to new or complex situations.

Executive functions play a key role in various aspects of daily life and are essential for success in academic, social, and professional environments. Executive functioning can be affected by a range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety and depression.

These webinars will support participants to:

  • Be clear on the key components of executive functioning
  • Be more able to recognise executive functioning difficulties in students
  • Be aware of strategies and interventions to support students with executive functioning in the classroom
  • Be able to create a classroom environment that supports executive functioning
