24TRA106 Navigating Success: Strategic Approaches to Prepare Students for the 2024 Junior Cycle History Exam
Date: Thursday, 11th April 2024
Time: 7 pm - 8 pm
Venue: Online via Zoom
Since the introduction of the new Junior Cycle history programme, attaining a top-tier grade has proven to be a challenge for most students, as evidenced by the 3.9% of students nationwide securing a distinction in 2023. The prevailing grade over the past two years has been a merit (55-75%).
This session is designed to explore strategies that efficiently equip students for success in the JC exam. The emphasis will be on planning revision lessons and refining students' writing techniques to maximise their marks on JC-style questions. The examples and resources shared will be drawn from the speaker's own experiences in teaching history.
