Year on year the most frustrating part of the HL maths exam for students is Section B - Context and Applications. Students struggle with the challenge of contextualised problems and lack confidence in their problem-solving abilities. In this session, I will share effective strategies for teaching problem-solving skills that can help students overcome their fear of Section B. In this webinar I'll discuss the importance of creating a classroom culture where discussion and mistake making is encouraged as well as present my tricks for improving students' attitudes towards problem-solving in maths. By the end of the webinar, teachers will have the tools they need to help their students succeed in Section B and beyond.
