In this webinar Claire will outline a prescribed text approach using a pre-reading, reading and post-reading structure. She will be looking in particular at The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Trash by Andy Mulligan and the popular film Sing Street.

The webinar will cover:

• Pre-reading approaches: looking at challenging vocabulary, knowledge organisers, pre-teaching literary techniques, discussion around themes and ideas
• Fast-Read: audiobooks, integrating grammar, whole class reading and plot comprehension
• Post-reading: focus on character, relationship, setting, techinques, themes and ideas.
• Preparing for the final assessment: studying for prescribed texts, model answers and modelling answers
