21TRA379 Kerry SENCO Forum
The final meeting for the SENCO forum for this academic year will encourage participants to share their biggest tips and challenges which they faced during another busy school year.
There will be a presentation from Geraldine Greene on the TEST2r, and also a brief discussion from Karen Riordan who will share some of her new resources and tips for teaching children with SEN.
Bio of presenters:
Geraldine Greene has been a SET in Doora School for many years while shared with various schools prior to 2017. She was the first Resource Teacher in Co. Clare in a cluster of four schools and worked in special schools also. She has an Honours Diploma in Remedial Education from MIC Limerick. She has special interest in specific learning differences especially dyslexia. With two colleagues in Ennis CBS, she commenced extensive training on TEST2r fifteen years ago with Pauline Cogan, developer and participated in continual training and the norming process at various times. She is now a member of the Clare SENCOP (Community of Practice) and was a founding member and secretary of the Clare branch of ILSA for many years. She also tutored the DES training courses for SNAs at various Education Centres for many years.
Karen Riordan, teaching in St Tolas, Shannon for the past 16 years. Spent 9 years in SEN and did Reading Recovery for 8 of those years. I have a passion for all things Literacy and SEN, especially early literacy acquisition. I have been giving Literacy Lift Off and Guided Reading Workshops in the Clare Education Centre for the past 10 years.
