Come to beautiful Tralee, Co Kerry for a practical outdoor summer course with delicious lunch provided by Benners Hotel! Discover how rewarding teaching STEM and Biodiversity outdoors can be with field trips to Tralee Town Park, Ballyseedy Woods and Fenit beach. The course is lead by Ecologist and School Gardening facilitator, Cathy Eastman (Biodiversity Partners) with guest facilitator, Niamh ni Dhuill (An Taisce Learning About Forests (LEAF) and An Choill Bheag expert). The course is a blend of interactive, practical outdoor workshops, field trips, lectures and group work. Onsite workshops will be held in the fantastic outdoor classroom and grounds of the Presentation Primary School. You will leave with lots of ideas for teaching STEM outdoors, developing your own outdoor classrooms and habitat projects and making STEM delivery fun and educational for all your students!

Summer Course Booking Policy

Our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable.
Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.

Tralee Education Support Centre reserves the right to cancel a Summer Course where there are not sufficient numbers to run the course.
In the event of the Centre having to cancel your course, you will be offered an alternative course or offered a full refund.

In line with DES Circular 0037/1997, participants attending Summer Courses accrue entitlements as follows:

  • Full Attendance (20 Hours): 3 EPV Days
  • 4 Days Attendance (16 Hours): 2 EPV Days
  • No EPV days will be awarded for less than 4 days attendance
