Target Audience: Primary and Post Primary Teachers

The webinar will share some of the practical ideas and strategies that both presenters have developed over the years working with pre service teachers in physical education and running Inclusive Play & Leisure Activities for Youth (i-PLAY) at UL. This will include, adapting PE equipment to suit different students’ needs and ensuring a more inclusive experience for students through implementing the TREE principle. TREE stands for Teaching styles, Rules, Equipment, Environment and can be used as a practical tool to help teachers adapt and modify PE activities.

Daniel Tindall: Associate Professor Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at UL. Founder and currently the Co-Director of the Inclusive Play & Leisure Activities for Youth (i-PLAY). His teaching, research, and professional service focuses on teaching and teacher education in physical education, sport and adapted physical education with a special interest in physical activity levels of children with disabilities as well as parent perceptions of the assessment and IEP process as they relate to Physical Education in Ireland.

Brigitte Moody: Assistant Professor Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at UL. Co-director of the Inclusive Play & Leisure Activities for Youth (i-PLAY).Her teaching and research interests include Social Justice pedagogies, pedagogical practices in dance and Adapted Physical Activity.
