The Marine Institute’s Explorers Education Programme is delighted to present a special ‘Technology and Ocean Conservation Fact or Fiction’ Webinar to celebrate Science Week 2023, in collaboration with Clare Education Centre.

This 45min webinar is designed for students from 8-12 years of age and will provide classes with a range of facts that explore how technology is helping with Ocean Conservation with a focus on Sharks and Sea Turtles. But can your class spot when our Explorers Officers are sharing more science fiction than science fact!  

Open to all schools, classes will be encouraged to engage using chat and Q&A using Sli.do as participants are asked to vote on if our drops of wisdom are Fact or Fiction!

Dr. Noirin Burke and Tara Noonan are Explorers Outreach Officers, who work with schools throughout Co. Galway and Clare. They are passionate about the Ocean and fascinated by the role of Technology in Shark and Turtle Conservation.

Noirin loves challenging students knowledge and prior conceptions, while Tara is a fluent Irish Speaker who loves to bring the Ocean into Gaeltacht classrooms and schools.

The Explorers Education Programme is funded and supported by the Marine Institute.
