Target Audience: Further Education Teachers and Post Primary Teachers interested in exploring AI for the first time.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding AI implications both positive and ethical for the classroom.
  • Examining ways to incorporate AI into everyday teaching activities.
  • Understanding how assessment can become resistant to AI.
  • Identifying and using AI applications that can be incorporated into teaching and learning

Bio of Presenters:

Susan Dunne

Susan Dunne brings 13 years of experience as an educator in post-primary education, teaching Business, Accountancy, and IT. During her time in post-primary education, she was a coordinator for programs such as LCA, LCVP, TY, and IT. She was part of one of the first schools to achieve recognition as a Microsoft School of Excellence in Ireland.

Over the past four years, Susan ventured into Further Education, where she teaches QQI Level 4 and 5 courses with Tipperary ETB. Within her teaching, she uses OneNote E-portfolio extensively for teaching and assessment purposes. Alongside her practical teaching experience, she holds a postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs. Her enthusiasm for technology is constant and she continually explores innovative ways to incorporate it into her teaching practices.

Throughout her career, she has dedicated time to enhancing her pedagogical skills, delving into various teaching methodologies, including Assessment for Learning and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Currently, she is actively involved in the development team for the new Leaving Certificate Business Studies course with the NCCA.

Amy Cullen

Amy Cullen is a Business and Irish Secondary School teacher currently working in Further Education and Training with Tipperary ETB teaching Level 4 Employment Skills and Level 5 Business and Office Administration. She has been working in Further Education since she graduated in 2018.

Amy is a Microsoft Innovative Expert since 2022 and she is also a Wriggle Ambassador where she creates education videos for teachers and students on the Wriggle Connect Platform. Amy completed the Universal Design for Learning Badge with Ahead in 2020 and has been an advocate and implemented the practices into her classroom since.

Amy is very passionate about the use of technology in teaching and learning and has worked alongside Susan in incorporating the use of ePortfolios in the classroom for Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
Amy is also using social media to share tips and tricks on the use of technology in the Further Education classroom on both Instagram and Twitter under the username @funinfet.
