Rainbows is a free, inclusive, voluntary service for children and young people experiencing loss following bereavement and parental separation/parental relationship breakdown /divorce.

Overview of Bereavement Sessions:

  • Introduction to the work of Rainbows Ireland
  • Overview of Childhood Bereavement and the Bereavement Care Pyramid
  • Introduction to Theory and Research
  • Overview of children’s reactions to grief
  • Suggestions for support – what helps within the school setting
  • Sharing resources and links for signposting

Bio of Presenter: Kate O Neill

Kate O Neill is a primary school teacher with a passion for children’s wellbeing. She has volunteered with Rainbows Ireland since 2010. She has worked as a Programme Facilitator and Programme Co-ordinator in her school. She is part of the Rainbows Ireland National Training Team who train Programme Facilitators to deliver the Rainbows Programme in schools, youth clubs, family resource centres etc.
