This webinar will explore the role of picturebooks in fulfilling a wealth of the reading, writing and oral language learning outcomes within the Primary Language Curriculum. Participants will explore the literacy learning opportunities within a variety of high-quality picturebooks and the role of picturebooks as mentor texts for empowering, engaging and effective literacy instruction.  

Bio of Presenter: Clara Maria Fiorentini

Clara Maria Fiorentini is a lecturer in education at Marino Institute of Education specialising in Literacy and Early Childhood Education. Clara is a PhD candidate at Trinity College Dublin, researching early literacy development and transitions to formal literacy learning. Clara runs the popular Irish teaching blogwww.claramariafiorentini, and is an executive committee member of the Literacy Association of Ireland.
