Bio of Presenters
Claire Dunne

Is léachtóir le Gaeilge í Claire Dunne in Institiúid Oideachais Marino. She was the Irish-language editor of the Free to Be Me, Mind Yourself and Bold Girls reading guides and resource packs. Her research interests include using children’s literature to explore intercultural awareness.
Dr Barbara O' Toole

Dr Barbara O’Toole teaches intercultural education and global justice education on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in MIE. She set up the Master in Education Studies (Intercultural Education) in 2012. She was co-editor of Challenging perceptions of Africa in schools – critical approaches to global justice education (Routledge, 2020). Barbara is a network member of the DICE Project, supporting global citizenship education in initial teacher education in Ireland.
Richeal Ní Thiarnaigh

Richeal Ní Thiarnaigh teaches in Professional Development, Approximations of Practice and Ranganna Teagaisc sa Ghaeilge in Marino Institute of Education, as part of the BEd trí mheán na Gaeilge. Her teaching experience to date ranges from Gaelscoileanna in Dublin, to a school in Moria refugee camp on Lesbos Island, Greece. Her areas of interest include Irish-medium education and intercultural education.
