Target Audience: Teachers of LC Business particularly those teaching the new specification

Participants will:

• Develop a clear understanding of the structure and key features of the new Leaving Certificate Business specification.
• Gain insights into how the strands and learning outcomes shape teaching and learning over the two-year cycle.
• Understand the purpose and importance of the Unifying Strand, Investigating Business, within the new LC Business specification.
• Understand the structure and format of the Higher and Ordinary Level examinations, including the types of questions students will face.
• Explore the four cross-cutting themes (Ethics & Sustainability, Entrepreneurial Thinking, Digital Transformation and Business & Financial Literacy) 

Bio of Presenter: Helena Jacob

Helena Jacob is the owner of the social media account @LCBusinessJC and author of Lead & Succeed, a textbook specifically written for the new Leaving Certificate Business specification. She teaches Senior Cycle Business and Accounting, Transition Year Business, and Junior Cycle Business, and is passionate about making business education clear, engaging, and accessible for all students. Helena holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and a Master’s in Accountancy from Waterford Institute of Technology, as well as a Professional Diploma in Education from Hibernia College.
