Join Niamh Dooley, Co-founder & Head of Operations at BiaSol and BSc in Food Science & Health, for an insightful presentation on tackling food waste and its environmental impact. Discover why fiber is essential for overall health and well-being, and learn how to transform food waste into high-value ingredients.
BiaSol was started in 2020 as a way to combat food wastage, improve nutrition and bring our family closer together. Living on opposite sides of the world – Ruairi in Australia and Niamh in Ireland – we wanted a way to stay connected and to work on a cause close to our hearts. Our first light bulb moment was the realisation that repurposing food waste was a viable way to be more sustainable AND create healthy food products. The rapid growth of craft brewing across Ireland led us to our first ingredient: brewers’ spent grains. BiaSol has a wide range of products with brewers' spent grain as the key ingredient; including snack bars, granola and baking mixes stocked nationwide in stores such as Tesco, Aldi and Holland and Barrett.
