In this webinar, we will explore innovative approaches for teaching algebra, focusing on the use of diagnostic assessment tools and physical and virtual manipulatives. We will examine how these tools can effectively identify students' misconceptions and discuss strategies for using this information to improve instructional outcomes. Special attention will be given to interactive resources such as PhET simulations, Polypad, and algebra tiles. Throughout the webinar, we will discuss how these resources can be integrated into your teaching to help students master algebra through a deeper, more thorough understanding.
Bio of Presenter: Shannon Aherne
Shannon is a Post-Primary Maths and Chemistry teacher and the creator of @craicmatamaitic. She has over 6 years of experience in STEM education and strives to make maths enjoyable for students of all abilities.
