This webinar will delve into the critical role of language in fostering a deeper conceptual understanding in the mathematics classroom. The primary objective of the webinar is to highlight the potential pitfalls of commonly misused mathematical language and how it can inadvertently obscure a student's comprehension of key concepts. Throughout the session, I will introduce more effective and clear alternatives to some of the most common mathematical miscommunications, such as 'canceling out', 'bring it over and it becomes minus', and 'cross multiply'.
