Academic engagement is a key factor in developing a positive classroom environment and fostering student progress. This webinar will suggest strategies which can be used to build engaging lessons. The session will look at planning a lesson to include hooks and starter tasks, utilising formative assessment strategies within class time and getting the most out of plenaries. The examples given and resources shared will be taken from the speaker’s own history lessons but these can be easily adapted for other subjects. The session will also look at using formative assessments online as an effective and engaging form of homework.
