The introduction of the new Junior Cycle Science course in 2017 saw many science teachers teaching about Earth and Space for the first time, and eager to pick up new resources to teach the topics involved. In this webinar, you will be presented with a variety of ideas for teaching Earth & Space Science at Junior Cycle, many of which you will be able to use in your science classroom tomorrow. From practical activities, to digital resources, and to methods of assessing for learning, this webinar will equip you with some strategies for engaging students as you explore Space with them!

Bio of Presenter: Dr. Lisa Shine

Lisa Shine

Dr. Lisa Shine is a Biology and Chemistry teacher. She is currently teaching at Dominican College Muckross Park in Dublin, and has previously taught at St. David’s Secondary School in Greystones and Scoil Mhuire Cork. Her initial degree was in Pharmacology, and she also holds a PhD in Genetics from University College Dublin. Last year, she launched her own website (www.shineatscience.com) to share assessment materials, that she has designed, with other science teachers.
