Part 1: The Basics of Sketch Notes - Friday 15th May
Part 2: Exploring the Practice - Monday, 18th May
In this follow up workshop, we will move beyond the drawing skills learned in part one. Students will explore the practice of Sketch noting as a study skill, becoming familiar with identifying key concepts in texts, while working through subject specific examples of the use of Sketchnotes as a study strategy.
Bio of Presenter: Claire Comerford

Claire completed a BSc in Education in University of Limerick, and qualified as a post primary school Biology and Chemistry Teacher. After spending a couple of years working as a mainstream teacher, Claire returned to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs in Dublin City University.
Her special areas of expertise include Additional Educational Needs, study skills & innovation in teaching. Claire created a numeracy course which is now delivered to all first year students at a large post primary school and has presented her work to the Department of Education at the National Numeracy and Literacy Forum.
She has worked part time with the PDST on the development of numeracy based resources and has presented to the JMB, NCCA & the OECD on her work. She has also held the post of Attendance Coordinator and currently holds an AP1 position as the Teaching & Learning Co-Ordinator, with a focus on Planning and Assessment. She has also worked extensively with students displaying school avoidance tendencies, and social & emotional support requirements.
