Bio of Presenter: Karen Riordan (Primary Links)
Karen has been teaching for the last 18 years in a co-educational school, having both classroom and SEN experience. She has a special interest in working with children with additional needs having spent eleven years as a Special Education Teacher and is the current Chairperson of the Clare SENCO CoP. She has published yearly planners for both Special Education Teachers and SNAs. She is also passionate about supporting children’s emotional and social wellbeing in schools. Karen has recently trained as a Play Therapist and is completing her Masters in Creative Psychotherapy currently. She thoroughly enjoys facilitating Teacher Professional Development workshops and webinars on various Literacy Initiatives and looks forward to meeting new teachers virtually to share tips on linking theory to practice in everyday classrooms.
