Maximising the Role of the SNA in Mainstream Primary Schools

 

Dr. Celia Walsh will cover the following topics during this webinar:

  •  Overview of the purpose of the SNA scheme and the role of the SNA according to Circular 0030/ 2014

  • Effective Planning and Record-keeping strategies for SNA; efficient collaborative planning approaches for teachers and SNAs, appropriate  strategies for supporting students.

  •  Overview of new School Inclusion Model; Q & A, Discussion of Webinar content. 

Dr. Celia Walsh is a former SET, Primary Principal & Director of Waterford Teachers Centre. She completed her M St in SEN in Trinity College, while her Doctoral research at Dublin City University examined the leadership and management of SEN provision in mainstream primary schools. She lectures part-time in educational leadership at the University of Limerick and at St Angela’s College, Sligo in SEN.  Celia also provides online CPD in SEN through the Education Centre network and facilitates school staffs in developing effective  SEN policy and practice. Her areas of educational interest include teacher professional networks, promoting school inclusion and developing effective school leadership.
