This session is for Mainstream Teachers and Special Education Co-ordinators and Teachers as they work together with children with Mild GLD.  The presentation will adopt a strengths’-based approach to addressing need in inclusive classrooms.  Margaret will present key characteristics of the children with Mild GLD while highlighting that every child in your classrooms is an individual. An overview of the Student Support Plan for particular children with Mild GLD will be offered.  Specific assessments of identify particular, individual needs will be discussed. Key pedagogical teaching approaches, based on assessed need, will be presented with strategies that relate directly to teachers’ work with children in classrooms.  The presentation will also focus on inclusive education for children with Down Syndrome with Mild GLD.
