Experiencing stress is an unavoidable and inevitable part of life however, as a teenager’s first experience of high levels of stress often coincides with exams, this can leave them feeling overwhelmed. This information session for parents/guardians will focus on helping you to identify signs that their child may be struggling to manage exam stress. It will also give you as a parent/guardian, a range of strategies to help support your child through periods of exam stress.
By the end of this session parents/guardians will be able to:
- Approach the topic of stress with their children as part of everyday conversation in the home.
- Help their child manage stress using a variety of approaches and strategies that can be adopted by the whole family.
Ask any questions they may still have regarding how to support their child through exam time.
Presenter: Sarah Mulvey
This session is delivered by Sarah Mulvey an experienced secondary school teacher based in Co. Kildare, and currently qualifying as a Guidance Counsellor. Student wellbeing and personal development is a key area of interest and work for Sarah, and this has led to her developing and delivering a Skills for Life body image and wellbeing program for second level students.
